Wheat & Rice Can Reduce Risk of High Blood
What food you eat everyday affect your health. The good news is, eating the right foods like oatmeal and brown rice can counteract high blood pressure.
Researchers from Harvard University reviewed the research data from the Health Professionals Follow-up Study, which has followed 51,529 participants since 1986. The study participants had a mean age of 40 years when the study began.
Researchers from Harvard found that about 31 684 participants were free from the risk of hypertension, cancer, stroke or heart disease at the start of the study. After 18 years, about 9227 participants known to have high blood pressure or hypertension.
According to the study, men who ate whole grains had the highest number of lower risk of hypertension by 19 percent compared with men who ate whole grains in smaller amounts. Grains that have healthy benefits such as whole grains and brown rice.
Whole grain bran can maintain quality as it has a coating that protects against germs. Whole wheat also rich in fiber, protein, selenium, vitamin B and other vitamins and minerals are good for maintaining stable blood pressure.
Experts recommend consuming at least 5 to 12 servings of food products made from whole grains. To increase your intake of whole grains, try switching from white rice to brown rice or enjoy a bowl of hot oatmeal for breakfast.
